Culprit toys
Culprit is an Edinburgh based illustrator. Dotsans' experience in toy design and development translated Culprits' work from 2D to 3D. To ensure the design remaind true to Culprits' style, photorealistic renderings were key in the development process.
"In addressing my needs as a client, very closely and at every stage of the development and design process, Dotsan successfully captured the essence of my 2D character work. It was a pleasure working with Dotsan, they are consumate professionals, and I look forward to working with them again on future collaborations!"

We worked with Jonathan Edwards Illustrator to realise his illustration of Inspector Cumulus. The model and visuals were used to create interest and help in the design of a figure toy.
Client: Jonathan Edwards, UK

Shapeways asked Dotsan to model these Piggy Banks, they are full colour 3D prints, the body can be coloured by the customer.
Dotsan were able to create a shelled model unwrap the mesh and create a single UV texture map required for the printing process.
"For us this Money Pig is a great example of co-creation, designed on paper and brought to life by Dotsan. The Money Pig is not just a design it is an interaction concept with the customer and designer both working to complete the work.
The model was developed and optimized for Full Color 3D printing by Dotsan. We were very impressed by the designer's responsiveness and diligence.
The end result is very good and it's a great showcase on our website...
Thank you!"

In collaboration with Culprit Art we developed this figure. Using Rhino3D, the image is rendered in Maxwell Render.
